New China Court Reviews

Found this spot by accident and made a mental note to try them out the next time I was craving neighborhood chinese food. Tonight was the night! Ordered fried dumplings, which appeared homemade. The flavors were good albeit a bit greasy for my liking. Next time I'll get them boiled and drown them in that delicious house dumpling sauce. That was the star. It had tang, spice and savory sweetness. Perfect combo to drown those morsels in. Also ordered shrimp in lobster sauce and it was excellent. The shrimp were larger than I expected and the sauce with the pork fried rice was bomb. This was pretty good quality at exceptional prices. I will definitely order again!

This place is very efficient and the menu is actually pretty expansive which is always a plus in my book. We ordered the veggie lomein, spare rib tips, boneless bbq ribs and almond cookies and we were not disappointed.

I've had takeout from here MANY times. It is good greasy American Chinese food. It is also very inexpensive, and they get the order perfectly correct every time, even when they are busy as hell. I prefer this over Mario's across the parking lot for a quick bite anytime. There are slighty better chinese takeout spots nearby in Chestnut Hill, but this is by far the least expensive and fastest.

This is our neighborhood take-out favorite. I can't even tell you how many times we've ordered from this place, but we have always been very happy with our food. It's a little dingy and greasy inside, but the food is prepared to order and I've never had any concerns about their standards. The service is friendly (although slightly limited in their English skills) and super fast. Our favorite is the sweet & sour shrimp - this is a guilty pleasure kind of place, not somewhere to veer away from the standards. Their vegetable delight is also quite good and my husband is a big fan of their General Tso's Chicken. And still cash only!

This place is always full of people! It is primarily take out only (ie there is 1 table in there, and it's mainly for people waiting for their food). That being said, the food is always ready within 10 minutes and it is PIPING hot. I've had a ton of different things here and they have always been very good. Egg rolls here are especially tasty. I know that you should expect Chinese food to be greasy, but sometimes I do feel it is a little greasier than I'd like at New China Court. (That's really the only reason I took a star off.) The service is generally very nice. The prices are more than reasonable. THEY ARE CASH ONLY, so leave the plastic at home. Great place to order when ya just don't feel like cooking. Never a disappointment!

Hands-down, the best Chinese takeout food in town. I used to live close to New China Court and I visited there often. I never had one bad experience with their food and everything was quite tasty and the prices are quite reasonable. Since that time I have moved away to Montgomery County, which is a 25 minute drive from them. I still make the drive back into Philly to. get my Chinese takeout. I have tried many other places, since I have moved away, and nothing is close to this place! Highly recommend!
